The Sip Limited TV Series Goes On The Road!
Bahamian TV Show Celebrates Wines, Spirits & Delicious Food Pairings
The Sip limited television series has gone on the road! The show, which is sponsored by Caribbean Wines & Spirits (CWS), features a rotating roster of special guest chefs, mixologists, and food lovers. For the second half of the season, which is currently airing nationwide on Island Luck TV (ILTV), hosts Nicholas “Nick” Mitchell & Gabriella Suighi got out of the studio and have been sharing their love for amazing wines, delicious cocktails, and flavor packed food pairings at various restaurants around New Providence.
The show kicked off the second half of the season on April 21 with a very special Earth Day themed episode at The Bahamas National Trust. Nick and Gabriella were joined by Anna Bancroft, BNT Director of Development & Communication, as well as Elijah Sands, BNT Senior Communications Officer, who both shared a bit about the wonder of The Bahamas’ national parks. In honor of Earth Day, the group sipped on easily recyclable Dasani water in cans as well as Coca-Cola No Sugar instead of their usual wine selections.
On May 19, Bahamian Bistro will be the featured restaurant. Bahamian Bistro and Flamingos Lounge co-owner, Cutelle Neymour, will share a bit about the restaurant’s shared kitchen concept, their new lounge venture, and their signature dishes. Nick and Gabriella will also face off in a House of Angostura mule mixing contest led by Recarno Nixon.
Next, The Sip team will once again be joined by Chef Elijah Bowe, who is the long-time Executive Chef at the historic Graycliff Restaurant, on June 16. Chef Bowe will prepare two Italian classics, and Henry, a member of the Graycliff mixology team, will also show Nick and Gabriella how to prepare a delicious Angostura 1919 infused Spiced Iced Tea.
The Sip will then wrap up its limited run on July 21 at Yacht Haven. For the series finale, Nick and Gabriella will be joined by the show’s Executive Producer Nikia Wells and Producer Jondeisha “JD” Hall, as they show viewers how to prepare for a day on the seas, complete with Besserat Champagne and a sunset cruise aboard Reel Dreams II. The entire team will share a bit about their favorite memories from the season and some of the behind the scenes moments that viewers didn’t see.
Nikia Wells, who is the Executive Producer of The Sip, noted that the team wanted to bring something new to Bahamian television screens.
“The Sip is truly a project that celebrates our team’s collective love for good wine, a great cocktail, delicious food, and sharing a glass or two with amazing company” added Wells. “Over the past few months, Nick, Gabriella, and the entire CWS and ILTV teams have worked exceptionally hard to create something fun and engaging. For the last four episodes of the limited series, we wanted to actually visit a few of the amazing restaurants that serve the Caribbean Wines & Spirits range of wines as well as the House of Angostura line of premium rums. Hopefully, the guest chefs and the wine tips will give viewers some ideas and inspiration to create a wine spread of their own.”
Each episode of The Sip, which airs on Cable Bahamas channel 224 and BTC Flow TV channel 112, also features a 60 second “Swirl & Learn” hosted by Christopher Duncombe, CWS Wine & Spirits Manager.
